We lost our pillows 3 years ago in the Joplin, MO. tornado. Since then I think we have purchased about 6 different pillows trying to replace the exact pillows we had. None compared until I accidentally found these pillows. They are just like the ones we lost. Finally we're able to sleep again without neck pains or having to flip the pillow several times during the night. It's nice & "mushy" but keeps it's shape.
Sometimes I feel like the princess in the tale of the princess and the pea--no pillow is ever "just right." --that is until this one. I've been using it for two weeks and it's perfect! Normally I have a problem with them being too hard or too firm and I get a stiff neck, but this one has the the right amount of support and give so that my head is cushioned. I liked it so much that I bought two for my parents.
This is NOT "memory foam. This is the foam that "springs back" when you lift your head. I love it because my head stays higher than my neck - which is what I think IS the purpose of a pillow. I DO like this "soft" density if you were new to this style of a pillow. It is very subtle, very similar to an expensive, down-alternative style that is relatively firm, without being "rocklike." I also like the medium density. If you were not sure you were ready for this pillow, I would go with the "soft." If you remembered sleeping on one of these somewhere before, or as a kid, and liked it, get the medium, its more like what I remember when there was only one choice.
I'm a stomach sleeper and have found it quite difficult to find a pillow good for me. Have always used down until now. I'm very happy with this and would highly recommend. It's also less expensive than a down pillow so I won all the way around.
This pillow is not nearly as dense a foam as the pillows I am replacing and is lighter weight. Although the pillow is comfortable enough, only time will tell if it will last as long as the more dense latex pillow it replaced (that lasted ten years).
I bought this for my daughter. She likes a flat pillow. After reading reviews, I went with this one. I feel the price is a bit high, but she likes it so far. It does have a weird odor. Hopefully that will go away. She's only had it a few days.
I really love these pillows with one small caveat. They actively try to pull my pillowcase off themselves. Something about the friction between my pillowcase and the washable sheath of these pillows react to cause the pillowcase to slide about 1/4 of the way off the pillow every night. I don't really mind since they're so comfortable, but I need to find longer pillowcases so I can tuck them in to prevent this. Also, I got a couple different firmnesses of these pillows and prefer medium over soft.
I purchased a firm about a year ago. Once it was broken in, which didn't take long, it has been a great pillow. This soft pillow is for the wife she loved it right out of the box. With these pillows the density is accurate. Some pillows say firm and you can hardly tell the difference between them. I'm hot blooded and when the pillow gets hot it's a minor adjustment and it's cool again, I just move my head over a little don't have to flip pillow. Firm is good for me 6' 250lbs sleep on side and back. The wife sleeps the same and is 5' 7" and in shape, don't dare say weight. Worth every penny, Overstock is great to deal with.
I have extreme neck problems and wake up with neck pains daily. I have tried all types of pillows and this is the only one that has been both comfortable and pain free for me. I need a low profile and soft pillow. I usually buy down pillows , but the last one I bought went flat and uncomfortable in less than a month. Hopefully this will last for a while.
I must've purchased 30 pillows over the last 20 yrs. Finally, I found the pillow-love-of-my-life with Authentic Talatech's Latex Foam pillow. This simple, soft, foam pillow is superb perfection. The way I sleep; I start off on my back and this pillow supports without giving the impression that your chin is going toward your chest. It's softness is delicious, and, call me crazy, almost loving. Then I turn to my side and this foam pillow sinks and cradles beautifully but not down to a pancake. Then the great finish, on my stomach, I start off with my arms criss crossed beneath my head and this beauty squishes into place, a little under my chest, and through my arms, in any oh so comfortable shape I happen to need at the moment (i.e. bow tie, tootsie roll, or bent shape) while my head is softly but well supported, and, bonus, without any noise in the least or that horrible slimy feel of the slippery filling of some pillows. Only one and not a big thing, it smells new so let it air without the zippered protective cover for a couple of days, or don't. IT'S POSITIVELY HEAVEN.
My family has been using latex foam pillows for 30 years. Over the years, they have disappeared from store's shelves, and we had to try other "hypo-allergenic" types. Nothing could compare to the latex foam ones my kids grew up with. I have bought other ones online that turned out to be way too firm. FINALLY I found this soft density one! It is perfect. All my children have allergies, and I have found that this type is the absolute best. This particular model is the perfect firmness... no neck pain from being raised up too high. One of the best things about this pillow is that it can be washed easily (keep the zippered cover on) and it maintains the exact same shape and density for many, many years! My kids are thrilled! Finally everyone is getting a great night sleep!
Great pillow, been sleeping on this for over a year now, forgot to write the review sooner. Looked and looked trying to find true Latex foam, this is the real thing, just like I had back in the 60's. Never thought I would find another, figured they didn't make them any longer, can't find them in stores, memory foam is all the rage, Ha. I know this pillow will last for many, many years. A little soft, got use to it, but fixing to order the medium density. These pillows hold their shape forever, they spring back instantly.
