    • Disappointed by Muted Colors

      The overall quality seems quite good, making this an excellent buy for the price. That said, I am very disappointed by the color(s) which are just nowhere near as bright and clear as they appear in the picture. The colors are very muted, so much so that I am not sure that I would ever be happy using it.The bright red and medium green in the photo provide a nice contrast with the buttery yellow background. In actuality the background is more of a 'dirty' or muted yellow/cream, just not the bright, pure, creamy yellow expected and against which the other colors would pop. The reds in the flowers and in the plaid are also muted and not as bright as they appear in the photo. Same with the sage. The overall effect of the dull, muted colors is simply disappointing.Positives Comforter is edged in about a 4in ruffle of the red/sage plaid fabric along with a roughly 2in ruffle of crocheted lace. The pillow shams are made up of sections of all 3 fabrics (floral, plaid, and green solid) stitched together. The comforter has good loft. These would seem to be high end effects.Negatives Dull, muted colors lack contrast and just don't pop as expected and as shown in picture. Comforter does not reverse to the plaid or even the green as is normally expected. Back side of comforter is just an off-white backing fabric.

      This is a wonderful set. I ordered the king even though I have a queen bed because most comforter sets are stingy with their fabric, and I wanted an extra full comforter. WELL. It being the Laura Ashley brand, the comforter is VERY generous in fabric and heft. It feels light as goose down, but it is an excellent insulator against the cold. I am extremely satisfied with not only the product, but the service I have received from Overstock.com. This is the first year that I've ordered from them, and I placed more than one order shortly before Christmas, and everything arrived much quicker than anticipated and in excellent condition. I will be a very frequent customer!!

      Very well made, comforter is huge for a King size bed. Not a really big fan of Floral patterns but keeping it because of the size and great quality.
