While the Duvet is well sized, quite lovely, a great color for us, and seemingly well made, we were unaware that it was a "seconds" with some white threads running through an all cinnamon cover. The location of that bit of imperfection, which is quite visible when the comforter is placed normally on the bed, clearly spoiled the overall elegance of the piece. We're using it because, for the most part it works for us, but it's just not what we'd hoped it would be.
I purchased the Full/Queen gold duvet. The color is a deep honey. A nice natural, nature color. The material is soft, thick and the texture is subtle and interesting. The shams are well made and generous and roomy enough for a thick standard pillow. The duvet easily accommodated my queen size comforter. I recommend this product.
So, these sheets. I'd have to say they are incredibly soft. Color spot on. BUT i have not washed them yet. They are great value simply because they are a great price and the fabric is so great however, checkered? that picture is truly inaccurate. The squares are tiny not to mention, not so much squares as much as rectangles. Some stripped, some plain some with a satin shine. That i do not like. Lucky for me it is plain on the other side, so that is the side i now show.Worth it for how soft they so far are mind!
After receiving the sheets, looking at them in all light conditions, the Cocoa color looks much closer to an olive-drab green (which has faint brown hues in the color mix), then the nice chocolate-brown in the product pictures. The manufacturer packaging had Cocoa on the bar code, so I wasn't shipped the wrong color. Even though the bar code said Cocoa on the first set I returned, I bought another set a few months later from another site to see if I had just gotten a bad color batch, but it was the exact same olive-drab green sheets while the manufacturer packaging said Cocoa. Since I love the Dobby Check pattern, I ended up washing and keeping the second set. The fitted sheet of my Queen size set fits by 15 inch depth mattress very well, but on this deep of a mattress, the flat sheet is not wide enough, it barely reaches both bottom-sides of the mattress and can't be tucked in under the mattress. Most mattresses aren't 15" thick, so you can gauge how much length you'll have to tuck the flat sheet under the mattress by how many inches thinner your mattress is from 15". For the length of the bed, the Queen flat sheet also barely reaches to tuck under, but gets held in place by my top blanket. The sheets feel nice, but I previously had 250-300 thread count and was expecting more from 500 thread count, I wonder if they'll soften up a bit after a few more washings.
I bought one duvet set and liked it so much I bought another. I like the rich, quality feel of the fabric. I don't iron it -- I just wash it and let it drip dry. The squares of the check pucker slightly and give it a quilted feel with a very cool Euro look.
Fabric weave is thick and the jacquard pattern is lovely. the "squares" are small (3/4"?) and the overall look is NOT shiny (unlike many jacquards). we are very happy with the quality. the color is gorgeous (we bought the teal) and is a bit darker than the photograph. a GREAT duvet for a GREAT price.
I am very dissapointed in the color and the fabric. It deels like it weighs a ton and is very dull. If anybody is looking for an ivory do not buy this set.
- How did the color on site compare with the actual product? I odered Ivory, what I have is white
- Please tell us about the quality of the product. it is heavy and stiff
- How accurate was the on site description of the product? not at all
I've used this product with the Hotel Grand feather quilt..AMAZING! It washes and drys without a flaw. It looks as new as it did when I bought it. I wash it twice a year and it has held up without issue. If I even THOUGHT I needed another one, I would not hesitate purchasing this one again. I got two..one for him and one for me....we LOVE it!! Overstock really brings the best of the best!
