Down and feather-filled products are packaged tightly during shipping. Upon receipt, remove this item from its packaging, fluff gently, and allow several hours for full loft recovery. In addition, products sealed in plastic packaging sometimes have a disagreeable scent because of concentrated natural fibers. A few hours of airing typically removes the odor.
We recommend that this item is fluffed at least once a week to maintain down distribution.
The digital images we display have the most accurate color possible. However, due to differences in computer monitors, we cannot be responsible for variations in color between the actual product and your screen.

I wanted a second down comforter for colder nights. I like that it's got more "boxes" than some of the less expensives choices so the down doesn't shift around. I put it in a duvet. It's very warm so it does the job. The only reason I'm not giving it a 5 star is it's a little "crunchy" sounding.Read More
I received my down comforter (finally, had an issue w/ shipping the first time around) and I could not be more pleased w/ my purchase. The quality of the product exceeded my expectations...yes, I did open the box and noticed the comforter was a bit squashed due to shipping, but it only took an hour of it lying flat in my house to fluff up. There was NO smell or irritating odor as noted in other reviews. It did have a "brand new smell" but that dissipated quickly, nothing that caused me to want to send it back. The fill of the comforter exceeded what I expected; it is very warm on the chilly nights the last few days. The build seems to be darn good as well, no feathers flying out or any other issues. Overall I find the Super Fluff 240 Thread Count Down Comforter to be a great product @ a great price, I would not hesitate to recommend it to a friend or family member, and I am actually thinking about buying a couple more to give as gifts this Christmas.Read More
This is my first purchase from Overstock. I just received this comforter 4 days ago in the mail! At first it seemed very thin, but after a few nights of use it has fluffed up nicely!! It is INCREDIBLY warm. I do not notice any kind of smell, etc due to the fact that is is made out of down fiber/feathers, etc. It seems incredibly well made. I would recommend for the price! ;)Read More
Read some of the others complaint and can agree to a degree. But bottom line, It is awsome for the price. "Noisy", yes, but I love it, it makes me feel cozy. Perfect thickness and fluffyness. Do not smell a bit. Delivery was superquick. I bought a king size for my queen bed, so me and my lover wont fight over it when he is over. SF is cold now and this comforter was welcomed like a new puppy.Read More
I'm a college student and I bought this comforter to replace my old down comforter. Immediately upon taking it out of the back, I gagged...the comforter STANK TO HIGH HEAVEN. IT SMELLED LIKE DEAD CHICKENS! It smelled so bad, my roommate complained and opened our dorm window. So, I had it dry cleaned. No luck, even the dry cleaner commented on it and cleaned it again for free. Still smelled like chickens. So I opened it up and took out a handful and I had a down comforter with a majority of chicken feathers. I was so disgusted I threw it in the garbage can. NEVER AGAIN!Read More
Not too heavy and plenty warm enough for our mild winters in Texas.Read More
Feels great in bed. I bought the oversized King for our Queen bed, so good to have the over size so we don't fuss over who gets more coverage. Its priced well and we love down. I cover our comforter with a king flat sheet and its tucked well, keeping it clean.Read More
I agree with some of the other reviews. The blanket is kind of noisy but that really doesn't bother me. It fluffed up great following the instructions on fluff setting in the dryer. I don't notice a smell except for the usual down feather smell. The blanket is cool when you crawl under and warms up nicely. I fully recommend for a non expensive but nice quality down comforter.Read More
It's very comfortable, summer or winter. I do turn up the AC a bit during the summer months, but that is because I prefer to have the bedroom cold when I sleep.Read More
Not as fluffy when taken out of the packaging, I did leave it to breath for a few hours, still not fluffed but figure it will over a few days. I've used it for two nights now and it is very comfy and warm. Looks great on the bed. Had read in other reviews that there was a smell to it once opened but I did not get any smell that was overwhelming. It is new and I have no worries that the new smell I got from it will disspate, not bad to not sleep with it.Read More

Best Down Alternative Comforters For Winter
When winter arrives, many people turn to down alternative comforters to keep warm. What's the difference between down alternative and down? Down alternative comforters are filled with natural or synthetic materials, while down comforters are filled with goose or duck down. Here are the best down alternative comforters for winter.
Best Fills for Down Comforters
Warm and incredibly soft, down comforters are the height of luxurious bedding. Like all other bedding, down comforters can range from inexpensive to costly. The proof is in the filling. Inexpensive down comforters are filled with a combination of down and polyester or down and feathers. The best down comforters, which are usually also the most expensive, are full of pure, thick down. Take a look below to learn the best fills for down comforters. Hungarian goose down: Hungarian goose down is considered the most luxurious type of down. These extreme cold-weather birds have very thick, almost odorless tufts of down at the base of their feathers. This heavy, long-lasting down is most often used in comforters with a fill rating of 800, which means they can keep a person warm even in cold conditions. Eiderdown: Eiderdown is harvested by hand from the abandoned nests of Eider ducks, which pluck the down from their own backs and use it to cover their eggs. Eider ducks live in cold climates, so their down is thick and heavy. It is used in high-quality comforters with a fill rating of between 700 and 800. Eider duck down is the only type of duck down used in high-quality comforters. All other duck down is usually considered too smelly (and some duck down has tiny barbs) and is used in much less expensive comforters. Grey and white goose down: Grey goose down is used in dark comforters due it its grey color, but it is the same as white goose down in all other ways. Grey and white goose down, which is usually harvested from European or Chinese geese, is the most popular type of down used in middle-price-range pure down comforters. These comforters usually have a fill rating of 600 and above. Hypodown: Hypodown is a mixture of white goose down and milkweed. This all-natural filling is hypoallergenic and much more durable than pure down comforters. While pure down is still considered to be the preferable fill for comforters by most people, hypodown is gaining popularity with consumers who want a longer lasting product without synthetic fills. How to Buy a Down Comforter

Most down comforters are made with goose down, but some may include down feathers from other species of fowl. Look below to learn how to buy a down comforter.
