This down blanket is the perfect weight for cool nights. I find that it is too warm when the temps are over 63 degrees. It is comfortable into the low 50s. I have 2 so I layer them in the duvet cover for temps down to the low 30s. Absolutely perfect in fall and spring (and winter in the desert or summer in the mountains).
This is a very soft lightweight down blanket. Not to be confused with a comforter. It's a 4 season blanket for New England and I just love it. In the winter months I do add a down comforter with it and it's still very light weight on my body. I can't say enough about this type of blanket. I will never use another type.
Bought this in ivory and very happy with it. We prefer a down blanket to a comforter. In the winter we use two and just one in the summer. This is as very generous twin! It covers the top of our queen-size bed. My idea in purchasing a twin was to add extra warmth to just one side, but it's working out and we're happy. Would love to have this in a queen size.
I fluffed this by placing it in the dryer and let it tumble for 15 minutes. Some down filled products have feathers that will poke through the fabric- those feathers have a strong filament and may be chicken feathers and not real down. I have used this for one month and no feathers are slipping through the blanket fabric. I assume it is real down. I have had other down filled products; a winter vest, and down slippers. My down slippers gave me a horrible skin rash from the feathers poking me. I have a severe allergy to chicken feathers. I was tested by a specialist for allergies. These facts lead me to endorse this blanket as authentic high quality down.
These down blankets are a great value! They are perfect alone in the summer and under another blanket in the winter. I couldn't find a better price for down. I do wish it had the satin edging all around the blanket. I ended up ordering a second one.
I bought these as coverlet/summer blankets for my grandkids during their visit here in July. This is OREGON and it is summer....you still need a blanket! I have a trundle bed they use when they come and wanted matching coverlets and a little warmth. These are THIN down blankets. Probably not much warmer than a fleece blanket. But the fabric is nice, color is good....they felt cozy. The kids liked them.
Love it! Bought two. We actually use them as a top sheet on our king size split XL mattresses. Needed something a little heavier than a sheet but not as heavy as a comforter. Also put them in the washing machine and so far they are holding up great.
These down blankets are the best. We live in L.A. area so you never get super cold nights. Moving from the Midwest, all our comfortors were much to heavy. I puchased 1 twin size and 1 king. They are just warm enough and they look great. As a matter of fact, I use this as my comfortor/bedspread.
great quality . soft. no crunching like with some others i have bought. satin trim makes it pretty. my little one loves it. warm without being too warm . lightweight. fill is evenly distributed. very nice. would purchase again. only drawback is the dry clean only thing.
The blanket quality was average/fair (some remaining threads and strings were apparent) and delivered promptly. I missed the fact that it had to be dry-cleaned, My only complaint is that the blanket binding ran along the side of the blanket not at the top and bottom making for an odd look when the bed was made. I am returning this item.
I've looked a long time for a real down blanket with a cotton cover. This is it. It's the perfect weight to pull up when the night gets chilly or just need a little more warmth without al the hassle of blankets. Very good quality, exceptional value and price, and I've bought 4 for different beds. They are thin, remember. This is not a big poofy comforter, but a light, warm addition when you need a little something extra. The colors are warm and chic, not cheap-looking. I especially like the cream and sage.
The colour is exactly as described and featured on the website and matched exactly a bedspread I ordered last year, so that pleased me mightily. However, the satin binding is only on the 2 long sides. It would have been nice to see it also on one short end. Since this is advertised as fitting an extra-long mattress (i.e. 80 inches long) I was disappointed to find that there is very little 'tuck-in' allowance. It should be about 12 inches longer to accommodate today's thicker mattresses.
