I purchased it for my boyfriend because his dad speaks German, but we've already found 5 or 6 typos. If you look too long, you'll find English words that are missing a letter or spelled wrong. They also have that Truck is "Der Grapefruit". A quarter of the words on here are the same in English and German, so those are pointless. I wouldn't recommend it if you're actually trying to study German.
we bought it for the humor and the color and that was it. material is average shower curtain material... works fine.

I bought some for gifts for families with children who are studying German or have studies German in the past. Not sure about the (non) capitalization of the German nouns, but maybe I am out of date.

there are many words on this shower curtain that are misspelled. i did ask several german friends and did some research into the possibility of german dialects, but the words were just flat out misspelled. most likely they have some cheap foreign company print the curtains. that is still no excuse for a lack of quality control. they also used a couple of plurals in english without using the plural in german. arms is plural in english so it shouldnt be der arm, but die arme. coin is not miinze, its die Münze, wednesday isnt mittwnoh, it is mittwoch. there are other mistakes but i am not going to list them all. this is a great and fun idea but it was executed with the skill of drunk kinder-gardener. or should i say a drunken kinddernattler as they would have undoubtedly misspelled that word as well.
This shower curtain has a great fabric and mostly we love it. About 90% of the words are correct, but some don't exist in either German or English! So if you want a gag gift or are not a native speaker, then yes i would recommend this to you! But if you know anything about the German language then i would say look elsewhere. It does make a funny conversation piece! Also our shipping took over 2 1/2 weeks!
It's a unique gift idea, and I bought it for my sister who speaks German. Although she loved the look, she sheepishly pointed out multiple typos and misspellings. It pretty much defeats the point. If you don't care about accuracy, it's pretty cute. I returned it for a refund.
I chose this shower curtain because I have a very small bathroom that has no windows; I thought the white curtain would help brighten things up. It certainly does brighten up my tiny space, and it's a lot of fun to learn and practice new words in the shower -- I'm always noticing a word I didn't see before. This, of course, does slow down my morning routine a bit. I am disapointed, however, that many of the words are the same in English as in German -- what's the fun in that? "Rugby", for example, is just "das rugby", "November" is "November"...there are a number of "translations" like this. I also think the curtain could be a smidgen wider -- from left to right -- but it does fit my average size tub.
What a funny conversational piece.....we all come out of that bathroom trying out our German on my husband.....very funny

Great shower curtain, Provides great bathroom reading material and a way to brush up on your German vocab! I have not gotten tired of it yet! I did notice two Typos and some of the words they use are not the most common words that are actually used in german conversation. Other than that I am very happy with my purchase!

Nice concept, but there are too many errors. I lived in Germany for almost 5 years and speak the language. I had two of my three children there, so wanted to surprise them with this...now don't want to mislead them by having them repetitively see the blatant errors. Whatever happened to spell check or a simple freetranslate.com run through, pre-production???? Disappointed.
This is one of my favorite little touches in our house - having German spoken by several of our guests and everyone knowing that we have German spoken in the house - - it is really a sweet touch. It looks crisp and sharp, the material feels luxurious not cheap. I do line mine with a clear plastic shower curtain so that no soap or water hits this little treasure. Love it!!
I love the concept of the shower curtain, however, the one I received has a very snag in it and the snag was printed over leaving a blank spot on the shower curtain. Other than that, I think it is a very interesting shower curtain. I want to return this item and order another one, without a snag!
I'm glad I ordered this entertaining shower curtain, despite the warnings of several spelling errors. Have a little humor and find the "hidden errors" The quality is great, needs a liner, but works wonderful. My family loves it and it fits our bilingual household
I like these shower curtains a lot, we have three ourselves and I bought one for a friend in the UK. I only have one problem with them and that is that they seem to stain easily. One of ours has pink/rust colored stains all along the bottom of the curtain about five inches deep. This was from when our water was discolored as it sometimes is though not frequently. I don't see why it has discolored but it has so I will now endeavor to remove said stains! Apart from that they are great and a lot of fun for all the family.
I purchased this curtain, as many or all other reviewers have, thinking it was a novel idea. Well, yes...there are several typo's but it turned into the most entertaining, tangible item I've purchased. I kept it up and decided to add to it with a sharpie whenever the humor struck. I've even involved some friends. While watching Anchorman, Ron Burgundy explained what the German word for "San Diego" was, and naturally, that's when the idea hit me. So, off to the bathroom I went, sharpie in hand with my friend walking behind me wondering what on earth I was up to. That's when it happened. The sharpie met the curtain and San Diego - Whales (well...if you've seen the movie you'll know) was born. Its the greatest conversation piece I've ever owned. I just re-ordered one for my girlfriend in NY. She will love it as she was there for one of the "entries".
This curtain is overpriced as a regular shower curtain. The quality is not exceptional and is equivalent to any $10 curtain you could get at a regular store. I was most disappointed, however, in the graphics. The curtain is riddled with errors in the German and the English (pototo?). I was willing to pay more because I thought the idea of a nice language refresher was appealing but this is a so-so shower curtain and very disappointing in terms of vocab refresher.
I have ordered this shower curtain for my husband to learn his german without bugging me to repeat the words. I have also ordered the spanish shower curtain for another family member. What an awesome way to memorize the words and stop the off-tune singing in the shower at the same time. A highly recommended item for anyone who wishes to learn another language or prep for exams. Exercise your learning abilities by rotating your shower curtain.
