Enjoy the Luxury of Royalty
from Little Rock, AR,  Aug 22, 2007

These are the most awesome sheets. With the Egyptian Cotton at 1000 thread count per inch, they feel like heaven. However, when you wash them, since they are such a heavy type of cotton - to get the sheen back in them - you need to give them a light iron. With a light iron - you will sleep in the best luxury you have ever enjoyed. These are the types that are used in the Delux 5 star hotels in Europe. They last well and will give you years of sleeping happiness!

Not too impressed
from Northern Virginia,  Aug 25, 2007

I really wasn't too impressed. After purchasing this I found out that this was a single ply yarn which was never mentioned in the description. The sheets will do but I purchased a multi-ply yarn version for the same price last month that was so much thicker/denser than this that i was really disappointed after receiving it in the mail. You live and you learn.

Very Inferior Quality
from Dallas, TX,  Apr 28, 2009

I'm really surprised these sheets are getting so many great reviews. If you are used to high thread count sheets, you will be highly disappointed. The material is rough, not at all soft or smooth or sateen-y. I've bought sheets with lower thread count that were better quality than these. Maybe the problem is that the sheets are Single Ply which was NOT stated in the product description online.

I was disappointed with these sheets. They do not have the weight, nor the rich feel, of 600 Thread Count sheets I own. Also, the fitted sheet has elastic only on the corners.

Disapointed
 from Wa.,  Feb 8, 2009

The first two sets we bought were great . This set is very thin and not as long or wide as the others. The corners of the fitted sheet had to be fixed befor I could even use them. The stiching had not cought the fabric on both sides. They don't have the GOOD feel of 1000 ct. sheets! I have know idea if you shipped me different ones from the first shipment or if they are just out of a bad lot.

Highly disappointed in Overstock.com for the description. The title describes these sheets as Solid Egyptian cotton and they are not. When you receive the sheets it clearly states SATEEN in large print on the front of the package. I thought I had received the wrong sheets. Washes very poorly. Have had mine less than a year and they have gotten worse every wash to the point that I don't want to lay on them. Feels rough, like crumbs everywhere. Don't order

size
from Memphis, TN,  Feb 4, 2008

I did not try the sheets other than to attempt putting them on my bed. The pockets were not big enough to hold on the mattress. I caution you about purchasing sheets from overstock-apparently if they do not fit and you try to send them back (the description said they would fit my thickness mattress but they did not) you may be charged a restocking fee(I think that is what they call it) and the shipping fees both ways because of the opened package. My thought is how do you know they fit unless you try them on? So be careful when purchasing sheets. I even bought some of the same type I had before (same manufacturer) and they did not feel as good as the others. Be careful!

sheet size
 from california,  Oct 1, 2007

I am very disappointed in this product. The pillowcases barely fit the pillows and the size of the top sheet barely fits over the edges of the top mattress. I would not recommend this product at all!. If I could return them after having them on the bed I would have!

The sheets were lovely until they were washed. Now they are very, very wrinkled. I would not recommend these sheets unless one likes to iron.

1000 ct sheets
from New Mexico,  Oct 29, 2008

I was excited by the price for 1000 ct sheets. I was purely dissapointed. 1/2 the density as my other 1000 ct. sheets. One pillow case was completely off on the seam, leaving a 1/2 inch overlay!! Embarrassing to guests!!!!

Deep pocket sheets
from Cincinnati, Ohio,  Sep 24, 2007

These 1000 thread count sheets have very deep pockets on the fitted sheet that easily fit over our thick mattress and feather bed mattress cover. The fabric looks and feels wonderful. The only disappointing thing about these sheets is that the queen size top sheet is narrower than most queen top sheets--an odd feature on a set with the deep pockets. It comes just to the edge of the mattress and can not be tucked in on the sides. It is plenty long though and stays tucked in because there is a lot to tuck at the bottom. On balance this is not a problem and there is no risk that the sheet will show below the comforter so maybe this was intentional in the design.

Wonderful Sheets!
from Manitoba, Canada,  Nov 8, 2009

I received these fantastic sheets last week, I washed them right away and put them on our bed. They are even better quality than I expected. They are soft and warm ( even though they are 100% Egyptian Cotton) I am so impressed I can't believe the difference between the1000 thread cotton and my usual 400 thread. I will be buying more and recommending them to all my friends. If this is the usual standard for Overstock.com, I'll be a regular customer. Thanks very much from a very satisfied International buyer!

i have a set of these sheets. they were stiff and scratchy. called and overstock gladly replaced them. the new ones were no better. have wash many times and still haven't gotten softer. i am very disappointed. 1000 thread count should be very soft. i can get 700 thread count else where that are much better than these. i paid a good price since they weren't on sale at the time. maybe the ones that say they are soft came from a different batch of sheets made.

So So
from Sebastopol, Ca,  Apr 24, 2009

I read some reviews before buying this products. I love wonderful sheets and expected this set to be wonderful. I laundered these sheets once as of to this date. The sheets are not as soft as I want them to be and yes they are a bit scratchy. I am hoping that after several more washings the cotton will soften. The sheets do fit well and the color Ivory is as expected.I have never bought 1000 thread count before and I really expected delight such as the pleasure I have enjoyed with 600 thread count.I'm hoping for the best.

Stiff & Scratchy
from Chicago, IL,  Apr 9, 2009

I was so excited about these sheets but am really disappointed. They are stiff and scratchy.... not soft like I expected 1000 thread count sheets to be. I really regret the purchase.

Egyption cotton sheets
from Alpine, Utah,  Jan 7, 2009

Everything I wanted in a sheet. Soft, sturdy, non-piling. Not the wrinkle free sheets, but for the softness, this is what I prefer. I've ordered probably 4 sets for different reasons now. Enjoy...

Disappointed! Don't wash well!
from Venice, CA,  Oct 27, 2008

Sheets looked great right out of the package - very thick, crisp and soft. Reminded me of quality luxury hotel sheets. Unfortunately, when I washed them as directed (gentle cycle in cold water, dry low) they were simply terrible. Very wrinkled, stiff (without being crisp), and most noteable they had badly pilled which created a rough surface to the touch. Overall, poor quality and not recommended for someone who is expecting a typical high-end 1000TC Eqyptian Cotton product.

Did not wash well.
Anonymous  from Midland, MI,  Sep 30, 2008

These sheets washed up very poorly. They now have little lint balls all over them and it feels like I am sleeping on crumbs.

1000 Thread Count Solid Egyptian Cotton Sheet Set
from Baltimore, MD,  May 16, 2008

The sheets are nice, but they are not what I expected. The sheets arrived promptly and they are a good value; however I was disappointed when I read the label and discovered that they were a sateen/cotton blend. This was not noted on the website.

I would recommend with caution
from New York Metro area,  Apr 27, 2008

Sheets are my obsession and have been for the last 20 years. I am an educated shopper when it comes to TC (threadcount) and fabric content. These sheets possessed a great feel/value for the TC but I was a little put off when I placed the sheets on my 17" mattress and only saw about 6"-8" fall on either side of the bed. The sheets do not accommodate an extra deep mattress as was stated in the ad. Aside from that, if you have a standard mattress you are ok. The quality and the feel were up to my standards and I would recommend based on a standard mattress as an excellent buy.
