If you are looking for Egyptian cotton sheets before the "sateen" weave was invented, these are the ones for you. They have a "solid" weave. These sheets have a heavy hand and one can feel the quality and luxurious thickness. They will last a long time and become softer with age. Do not require ironing like sateen weave. Purchased one set to make sure it was a solid weave and now I can't find them again! I WILL keep looking.
I spent $400 on Hotel brand from Macy's. I absolutely loved those sheets. I recently purchased a larger bed and had to get new sheets. I was nervous about these sheets but really don't want to spend all that money on new sheets. I am so glad that I saved the money and bought these! AMAZING!!!!
These sheets are fantastic. If you have tendency to thrash about in your sleep, as I do, you know the frustration of knotting up bed sheets and unwittingly leaving your partner with less than their share of the bedclothes. I find that good sheets help to balance out this dynamic. When I toss and turn in the sheets they stand their ground and I can slide around freely underneath. Less friction. Crisp. Highly recommend. My wife and I ordered them together and we are both very pleased.
Sheets are very heavy and are starting to soften up after 3 washings. This is the only reason I gave a 4 star instead of 5. No pilling. Very little wrinkling and overall very good quality. I bought the ecru and the glacier. Can't really tell the difference in the colors. I will save the extra $$ next time.
I bought these sheets in December. I have other sheet sets, so these were only used about 7 times. I personally love the heaviness and yes, I iron my top sheet (you almost HAVE to with the higher count), They have fallen apart and literally shredded in certain areas. Its not the washing machine or dryer. I think I got a bad batch.
I was disappointed with the wear that showed on these sheets after just one week. They started pilling on the fitted sheet. However, they do feel great and are a good weight. The only problem is that they probably won't last as long as they should.
I bought the sheets in early 2013 and noticed the fraying around February of 2015. The top sheet is coming apart, fraying, and strands of fabric started hanging off. I trimmed off the loose strands and I'm still using the sheets. I must confess that I've had sheets with lower thread counts that lasted much longer. The bottom sheet is still fine; I would have expected that one to wear out first.
These sheets are super heavy and were nice out of the package and after the first few washings. Three months later with weekly washings (as directed), the bottom sheet and pillow cases are covered in pilings like cheap dollar store sheets tend to do. They feel like sand paper. I definitely do not recommend purchasing these.
Been searching for 1000 TC sheets (100% Egyptian Cotton) for quite a while. Last set I had was from ***, but they stopped carrying them. These sheets are thick, comfortable and have deep pockets. I will be buying another set soon! Definitely worth the money.
love these sheets - they are nice dense sheets - thick but not too thick or heavy, with a dense weave that gives a sheen feel to them. purchases on overstock can sometimes be hit or miss - these were a hit, so will definitely be purchasing another set. (review is for the queen size sheet set in glacier (white).)
These sheets are thick and smooth. They have been washed only once and I am sure they will soften up even more after multiple washing. They are somewhat wrinkled out of the dryer but a light ironing does the job. I have already ordered another set.
