I actually bought this baby monitor to care for my ill elderly mother. Since I sleep at the other end of the house I couldn't hear her at night and I was always waking up to go check on her. I thought a baby monitor would work! It was simple to set up, just plug it in. I am now able to see mom and hear her perfectly at night! All she has to do is speak normally if she wants to call me. It has night vision so when she turns off her light I can still see her fairly well. It's amazing how much sound this thing picks up. You can turn off the sound and just leave the video on or turn the video off and just listen. I can actually her hear light breathing and this is important since she has heart failure. This product has changed our lives. The only thing is that sometimes the sound on the monitor gets a little static so I just move it around and it's fine. I would recommend it for anyone with a baby, sick relative, or anywhere serveillence is needed.
