Can it work on a captai s bed and without a box spring?
We paired the double railing with the Ikea Flaxa bed which does not use a boxspring. We simply wedged the railing between the bed and the frame. It is not as secure as strapping the rails to a boxspring but it definitely works and is just fine for now. We solely want it to keep our son from falling out of bed rather than "protecting" him while horseplaying in bed. It does the job and works just fine. It would be nice if the description mentioned the rails are built for use with a boxspring, but after reading another review stating they "made it work"; we decided to purchase. We are pleased with the purchase as it is a short-term solution until it is no longer needed by our 2.5 year old son....

This item arrives a little early and just as described by overstock. I can rest easy now knowing my lil rough sleeper will have safe nights without another fall. Thanks overstock.Read More
The quality and price was good for the system. It was very easy to set up and install. It folds away nicely and looks good. But... It is not 20inches high as advertised. It's only 18. I know it sounds nit picky but we have a child that is in a larger bed now and the mattress is thick (pillow top) We purchased this to try and use with the larger mattress assuming it was 20". The 2" made a difference on safety. In addition to that, the bed slopes in a little because the supports under the mattress. It is expected though I guess.Read More
For weeks I'd been looking for some guard bed rails of this type to secure a double-size bed in our guest bedroom for use by my 2+ yr old grandson. He has outgrown his play yard and so this bed is perfect for him. Now that we installed the Hide Away Bed Rails, my worries are gone and know he will sleep comfortably and safely. The bed rails were a little tricky to install (didn't realize there was a spring/snap-n type contraption) to lock in the rails. The directions did not mention to this as a I recall. After messing with it for a while, both me & my husband got the rails installed and wa laaaaaaaaaa they work!! We have yet to 'hide' these rails and will test out this weekend with 'adult' company.... Thanks for a great device.Read More
Easy to install and use. One can hide the rails away, or simply fold them down. Cheaper and equally good as other pricier rails I've bought!! Only con: rails are somewhat short, so if your child travels wildly all over the bed this may not be the best rails for you.Read More
These are very sturdy. I was expecting just 2 one-sided rails, but these actually are meant to be attached to each other under the bed. We are using each one on different beds, but they still work fine. There are just straps dangling under the bed that we don't use. I'm not sure how they differ from one-sided bed rails because I haven't seen the one-sided type.Read More
Good product--a little bigger and heavier and more complicated than the old fashioned kind that was just two arms that unfolded and slipped under the mattress. But very functional.Read More
