I will be brief. I was using a 'deluxe' folding type of stroller for our son who is now 13 months old. It retails for around $300 but we bought it used for $55. I got the itch to purchase something more maneuverable and cool looking at an affordable price (and new, not used). After much searching and reading countless reviews, I went with the Urban Advantage. The cons: looks cool, it is very easy to maneuver in stores, malls, sidewalks, etc, the sun shade is decent, the kick stand works great, the quality of materials is good, the safety is good and the large tires make the ride smooth for my baby. The cons: it is indeed bulky when folded, the 5 point safety harness seems a bit loose for smaller babies and it is a pain to raise the seat from an incline to upright. The last con is worth mentioning because it seems to be a design flaw. To raise the seat, you have to tuck some material in so that the latches snap in place correctly. The fact is, for the price, this stroller does what I want and I can put up with the cons.
This stroller pushes so easy, haS a wrist strap for safety on hills. I got this for my 3rd baby and couldnt be happier!
The kickstand is a great idea but the stroller quality is absolute garbage. The first clue this stroller is going to suck right out of the box is the rubber covered foam instead of air tires. They really dropped the ball there, anyone who has ever bought a cheap stroller knows that air tires are the only thing that can make it over everything from slippery mall floors to the sidewalk, never mind rougher terrain like a hard pack hiking trail. The handle is small and covered in cheap foam and the button to fold the stroller is too close to the button to open the lid on the parent tray so the parent tray is useless. The stroller seems to steer like a dream until you put a 25 pound baby in it, then the stroller is sluggish and seems to struggle under the weight. It also doesn't have any kind of shock absorption so it essentially is a sporty looking mall stroller, though you have to give them credit for the cheap plastic pieces they stuck on the frame at the back that serve no purpose other than to make it LOOK like it has shocks. That's the sign of a company that is truly looking out for your baby's safety right there. Next we have the comfort factor. The seat is MUCH too shallow even for my 16 month old (who can already touch the foot rest above the wheel) and is very difficult to put into the fully upright position. The tray is nice and low for them, but the cupholder is rather small for sippy cups and gets in the way. You either have to take the tray off completely or watch helplessly as your toddler kicks and sends the tray full of cheerios flying all over the mall floor as you try to lift him out in the middle of a tantrum (yes that happened). And really if he wanted to, he could push the tray right off himself which he would be sure to discover within a few months. Not to mention the color is BUTT UGLY. It's that powder blue color that was all the rage in the 90s and the fabric seems flimsy and again, cheap. The other thing that bothers me about this stroller is that it does not stand on its own when folded. For the same price, you can get a similar better quality stroller at most big box stores...(we won't mention any names!)
