appreciate safety features, but difficult to use
I did a lot of research before purchasing this seat and it came down to safety. After using the seat for almost two months now, I'm not a big fan, but will continue to use it because of the safety features. Not much leg room, even for my 19 pound 30 inch little one (but I knew that going in). The straps are very difficult to loosen and tighten. They seem short too. They don't leave a lot of room to get the little guy in and out. From other reviews it looks like you can request longer straps from Britax, but why don't they just sell it that way? The click and safe harness indicator doesn't seem that useful. It needs to be tightened beyond the click, sometimes even beyond two clicks. LATCH install (rear facing) in the outboard positions is easy and the fit is tight. It was difficult to get a good recline though. Middle install (rear facing)in our 2011 Toyaota Highlander with the seat belt was difficult, definitely a two person job to get it in there snug and level. Use of the tether straps and a pool noodle help keep the seat level.
