The blanket warms but does not heat to the extent that you get uncomfortable. One blanket adequately covers both driver and passenger from door to door. Just place the longer part across the seat. We are very satisified with the purchase of our two blankets from Overstock. So much so, that we have since ordered two more as Christmas gifts. While our car is equipped with heated seats, our knees and legs need extra warmth during the cold winter season in Michigan - there is a reason Michigan is shaped like a mitten! My wife and I just used one blanket and we were as snug as two bugs in a rug! However, if you want to be wrapped in the blanket then one blanket per person would be needed. If you have another place to plug a second blanket in your vehicle you could use two blankets. Great blanket to cover our grandchildren in the back seat or when one person needs more heat than another with no hassles about the heater settings. My recommendation: Cuddle up and chill out with these blankets!

It was not what I wanted. I wanted a blanket with the timer and this one does not have one. The cost of returning it is so high that I am better off keeping it and maybe use it myself sometime, but I will not give it as a gift.

We love this blanket. On those cold days when you are away from the garage it is nice to jump in the car and have something warm right away to put over your lap while you are waiting for the car to warm up. Also some of us don't like it so warm in the car and then we just plug in the blanket and we are nice and cozy. The only thing I don't like is that you can't throw it in the washing machine to wash it.

I bought this as a Christmas present for a friend that drives a semi truck across country. He had said that he gets chilly and sometimes its stuffy to have the heater on all the time, but too cold to open the windows. So I bought this and he says its perfect. can put it on his lap and keeps him toasty. Good product. Have not washed it yet, so do not know about that.

This is probably my mistake as well as the manufacturers, but I was expecting a blanket I could plug into the wall and use in the home. The "Auto" part of the description, I thought meant automatic, not automobile. As a result, we had to scramble to find a converter to allow the blanket to be used in the home. It was barely warm, when it did heat up - not satisfactory at all.
