This service protection is a scam. I purchased this for a TV set and was told I would only have to call if there were a problem and a technician would arrive to fix it. Within days actually of this tv being delivered(scratched, no control over the volume nor brightness factors)find out I am only covered for a power surge!!! ReallY?? Lairs! I have done everything possible to get this tv fixed(Hannspree-POS)been pushed through every dept. from manafacturer, distrubutor and each overstock rep telling me "I have no idea why the last person gave you that information". In the meantime, trying to find resolution to this problem i convienently "miss" my 30 day warrenty and then my 90 day warrenty. Funny how that works!! I still have zero resolution to this problem other than a hard to understand fellow at the manafacutring level telling me I need to be in front of the TV for a "major overhaul" Seriously folks, this is nothing but a huge waste of money as is Oversyock.com...they do not stand behind their claims, lie to you and have no idea in customer service what they are doing...SO sad.
I purchased this months back when I bought the TV (27" Samsung P2770HD) for the peace of mind. The TV was great and I used it as a computer monitor. Recently, when turning the TV to a different viewing angle, the base failed (I believe a scew was loose or stripped) and caused the TV to fall on its face. I now have two large, deep scratches in the TV on screen, even though it still works. When I first assembled the TV and tightened the screw until it stopped, the base was still a little wobbly, but the picture was good and I didn't want to deal with returning the TV for such a minor defect. Well I should have. When I called customer service/warranty assistance I was told that the screw's failure was not considered a "mechanical/manufacturers defect" and there was nothing to do unless there was some sort of surge or electrical issue (more or less not a problem anymore these days with cheap surge protectors and all). Basically this warranty is having you pay to only covers damage that is never likely to happen due to existing technological safeguards To make matters worse, the representative told me he'd give me the number for Samsung to see if they could do anything, instead when I called I was told I was on the "national talk line" or something like that. Not only could they not help with something I certainly consider a mechanical defect, but I was directed to a chat line instead of the manufacturer's warranty department. USELESS
I LOVE this TV. Sound & picture are both AMAZING. I'm still learning all the tricks and features of my 1st new flat screen. Can't wait to become a PRO at knowing it.
I bought this two-year Platinum Service Plan as insurance with a refurbished 40" Elements Electronics TV that only worked for a day. When I wanted to return the TV, my credit card was immediately credited with the cost of the extra plan. Overstock's return policy handled the return, not the service plan. I didn't know how to rate the plan, since I didn't use it, so I gave it a "Good" rating.
I was a little put off by the packaging because I kept thinking to myself "oh geez, how can this thin package ever become a queen size mattress. Boy was I pleasantly surprised! I had been reading about foam mattresses so I let it expand for 48 hours. To be honest, I think it would've been fine within 30 minutes but I wanted to be good. And then, I fell in love. The foam scent did not bother me and it was gone within two hours of opening the package, I am sleeping better now than ever before, my boyfriend (who is picky about everything) LOVES it, all in all, this was an amazing purchase.
Purchased the service plan on a reconditioned TV. Reasonable price.
