I don't know why people bother to write reviews for this service before they have had the displeasure of using it. I purchased my refurbished Dyson in April of 2011 and it ceased to function in late 2012. I signed on to the online service and tried to file a claim online. I heard nothing for 2 weeks. I then called the service center. They set me up with a repair center that was 65 miles away. When I called to ask about the shipping agreement, they said I should have received shipping labels in the mail. I didn't. I asked for a repair center closer to me. They said they would call within two business days with a new repair center. They never called. I got online and saw that they had set up an appointment for me on December 3rd with a repair center 15 miles away but had failed to call or email me even though I had asked for both forms of updates. I called to reschedule. They couldn't reach the repair center because the number did not work. I tried calling and got the same result. I called asking for a new repair center. Again, "We'll call you within two business days." No call. I call again. "We'll call you within two business days." Can't you just find me a new repair center on google or something?! This is as far as I've gotten after a month of calling and waiting and calling and waiting. I feel like I'm being conned. Good thing my warranty lasts for another 4 months, because and this rate that's how long it will take for this vacuum to get fixed!! Never buying from them again.
If you are going to invest in higher end, expensive electronics that will be used on a regular basis, and want the piece of mind if for some uncontrollable reason there is an issue with the speaker not working properly or if it stops working completely, then I strongly suggest purchasing the extra care that is included in an extended warranty.
One never knows what is to happen with a game system, it's ALWAYS a good idea to extend those warranties.
For items of size (treadmill) it's a safety net, I'm happy I purchased it.
I have not used the plan yet but I feel it should have been mailed instead of emailed
